Wedding Card Swap

I recently made a wedding card for a swap group I was in. I decided to go with a masking technique we tried at my recent craft weekend. I used a Whisper White cardstock base and a Sahara Sand layer.

Paperjay Crafts, Jar of Love, Special Celebrations, Stampin Up

The top layer is also Whisper White. I die cut a circle from a post it note and placed it centrally on the top layer. I then used small stamps from the Jar of Love Stamp Set in Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand inks to stamp all around the circle. Once you remove the post it note you have a lovely blank circle to stamp a greeting in.

The greeting I used comes from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set. It's a really useful set with sentiments you can match from the front of your card with the inside. I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around the top two layers and mounted it on the base with dimensionals.

I must thank my lovely teammate Janice Thomson for the inspiration for this card and her make and take at our craft weekend...those cards were...shhhh...christmas cards !! I haven't got a good photo of them at the moment but I will share with you another day.

One Sheet Wonders

While I was at my recent craft weekend one of the make and takes was a One Sheet Wonder. The basis of a One Sheet Wonder is to use one sheet of patterned paper along with some plain cardstock and make a number of cards by cutting the patterned paper into lots of different shapes and sizes. This also shows that you don't need a lot of products to be able to make lots of different cards.

My lovely teammate Heidi came up with all the calculations for this and we all had instructions and cardstock to make 14 cards.

I had done all of the cutting out at but only  managed to complete all the cards yesterday. As I had all my own crafty stuff around me I managed to jazz some of them up a little.

Paperjay Crafts, one sheet wonder, Berry Burst 1

These are just a few of them, you can make so many different cards depending on the stamp sets you have.

I used the Happiest of Days Stamp Set to make this one and finished it off with a little Bitty Bow. It went off in the post yesterday to a friend for her birthday.

There are lots of instructions for these projects around...why not have a try !

Whole Lot of Daisy Love

Following on from the cards I made at the Pootles retreat weekend, I decided to make some more similar ones with the Whole Lot of Love Designer Paper. I love this Paper Pack... it's just my sort of thing with the bright zingy colours my only problem is knowing which side to use! Anyway this is one of my most favourite patterns.

I noticed that I could use the the sketch for the Global Design Project #094  as a basis for my card. So this is my entry for this week's challenge.

I have used a Pool Party cardstock base and a layer of Whisper White. I cut the top patterned layer into three equal parts and once I had glued them into place  stamped the sentiments from Daisy Delight with Tranquil Tide.

I stamped and punched the daisy in the same colourways to finish off.

I love the colours in this card...just makes my mouth water !

Birthday Wishes Extravaganza

As you might know I was away last weekend at my Stampin Up Teams craft weekend. It just so happened that the weekend coincided with an event that Stampin Up was holding nationwide. They had asked us to put on a Birthday Wishes event which involved holding classes, workshops and making cards to donate to the Ronald McDonald Houses Charity.
This charity supports families by providing them with, amongst other things, houses to stay in near to the hospitals that their children are in.

At the weekend our Team Leader kindly provided us with a selection of designer paper and cardstock from the Whole Lot of Lovely Suite and all 44 of us had ninety minutes to make a selection of cards.

Between us we made 208 cards and no two were the same, which just goes to show that with some paper, cardstock and a stamp set just how much you can do.

I used the Happiest of Days Stamp set to make mine. The Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper is just gorgeous, I had it on my wish list and it will definitely be on my next order.

Sorry the photo isn't great, but you get the idea. I love this idea of stamping the sentiment onto one of the layers and reducing the size of the top layer. I think I can feel a few more cards like this coming on !
