Hiya,
I have had a lot of interest in my Note Card Holder from my post here, and a tutorial has been requested....so here it is.
I used the Tea Room Suite papers again and Rich Razzleberry as the base this time.
This holder is designed for 6 Stampin' Up! notecards and envelopes. The envelopes measure 5 1/8 inches x 3 1/8 inches.
This holder is designed for 6 Stampin' Up! notecards and envelopes. The envelopes measure 5 1/8 inches x 3 1/8 inches.
Using chipboard or sturdy cardboard cut
2 pieces that measure 6 1/2 inches x 4 1/2 inches
and 1 Piece that measures 6 1/2 inches x 1 inch
and place onto a sheet of A4 card stock in your chosen colour as shown.
Ensure you have at least an 1/8th inch between the pieces for the spine.
Once you are happy with the positioning then lightly mark round the pieces with a pencil and then glue into place following the markings with your chosen adhesive. I prefer to use Tombow.
Leaving a gap of 1/8th inch from the corner edges of the chipboard, cut off the corners as shown, to enable you to fold the edges of your folder in and have nice sharp corners.
and using a bone folder lightly press around the chipboard and then glue and fold the card inwards to stick to the chipboard.
Using your bone folder gently score down either side of the spine and gently fold inwards.
Cut a piece of card stock to measure 10 1/8 inch by 6 3/8 inch and glue to cover the inside.
Once again gently score down either side of the spine with your bone folder and gently fold inwards.
Choose your ribbon and with the holder in a closed position affixit to the centre of the back and front of the holder.
Choose a contrasting colour for the first layer of your front and back cover.
Cut to 6 inches x 4 inches. Cut your selected paper to 5 3/4 inches x 3 3/4 inches.
Glue these layers to the front and back of your folder securing the ribbon.
Decorate as required.
For the two pockets inside the holder cut two pices of card stock measuring 5 3/8 inches x 3 3/4. Using a scoreboard score at 3/8 of an inch and 3/4 of an inch on both the short sides and on one of the long sides.
Cut as shown and fold in the edges.
Put a small piece of tape as shown, marked with an 'X' and fold in the edges
to form the pocket making sure your corners are straight.
Place tape around the edges and affix to the inside of your folder.
Decorate the front pockets, I trimmed down some of the Memories and More cards to 4" x 2 3/4" and used those. I only glued around 3 edges so you can use them as a pocket.
I then used the Memories and More Card Pack to decorate the Note Cards.
I hope this is clear to follow and you have fun making yours.
Happy Stamping
